Tucker Tales – A Note For The Storyteller!

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF TUCKER TALES!

* Start reading early! A baby or small child’s attention span will be short, but as they grow their attention span does too.

* Pick a time! Set the stage: select a time each day when your child is looking forward to listening to Tucker’s adventures. Use bedtime, nap time, quiet time or just anytime to read together.

* Acknowledge illustrations! While sharing the story, refer to the corresponding visuals . . .remember pictures speak a 1000 words!

* Interact, initiate conversation! As questions, laugh, make comments, share ideas and just have fun together!

* Observe your child’s response! Use this experience as an opportunity to bond and grow with your child.

* Let’s talk about it! Use the interactive questions at the end of the story as a learning tool.

* As time permits! Visit your local library or bookstore with your child. This experience will be fun together for you both and will give you an opportunity to select additional books of interest to share together and create lasting memories.

* Place a book or two bedside! This is just another reminder to set the time aside to read another story together.

* Give a child a book as a gift! Children will treasure these as gifts forever!

* Enjoy the moment, knowing that nothing is more valuable to a child than a parent’s time, energy, and attention!
